Assistant Transport Officer at West African Examinations Council
The role: The Assistant Transport Officer will work in the Transport Department of the West African Examinations Council in Accra. The employer is the West African Examinations Council. What you will do: You will maintain and service the institution’s vehicles, keep an up-to-date vehicle database, arrange repairs and routine maintenance, conduct regular inspections, complete accurate records, keep schedules and organise team members, check vehicle log information, submit monthly reports on vehicle movements, fuel usage and problems, and assist in allocating and rotating work assignments. What you need: You must have a minimum of WASSCE/SSSCE/GBCE/GCE O‑Level with credits in at least five subjects including English and Mathematics, a Higher National Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering, a valid driving licence, and at least three years of relevant post‑qualification experience in a reputable organisation. You should demonstrate strong leadership and logistical skills, effective negotiating ability, good attention to detail, effective communication, excellent geographical knowledge, and knowledge of transportation vehicles and related laws and regulations.
