NPP sets 9am start for constitutional amendments ahead of national elections

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that constitutional amendments at its national conference on Saturday, October 3, 2026, will begin at 9:00 a.m., with elections of national officers scheduled for noon. The party said voting will take place across 31 polling stations to elect officers for nine positions, including National Chairman, General Secretary, National Organiser and National Communications Director. The party said the Electoral Commission will conduct the elections and verify delegates before they vote. “All delegates seeking to vote must have their names on the delegates’ register and present one valid identification document,” a statement issued reads. The accepted identification documents are the Voter ID card, Ghana Card or NPP party card. Delegates have been urged to arrive early to allow sufficient time for verification and to ensure the smooth conduct of the conference.
